AEROFAX MiG-23/27 FLOGGER

Over the past few years the outstanding Russian aviation writer and researcher Yefim Gordon has been providing the Western market with a growing library of authoritative works on Soviet aircraft, using huge amounts of previously unseen material and in levels of detail and with a depth of illustrative material which would have been unthinkable not so many years ago. Service histories, details of different variants and individual aircraft are covered extensively. This title will complete the Aerofax overview of the major types from the MiG jet combat aircraft range.
The MiG-23 was developed as a successor to the MiG-21 as the standard Soviet interceptor; its swing-wing configuration was a generation on from its predecessor. Deliveries began in 1972 and in excess of 3,000 aircraft were built before production ended in 1986. The type was widely exported, including to the Middle East, Far East, Cuba and Eastern Europe, and licence produced in India. The MiG-27 was the tactical strike development of the -23, with a completely redesigned forward fuselage, and was produced in significant quantities from the late 1970s.
